I started phen on 5/9/06. I go to the doc weekly. Today was my 2nd visit. I was pretty happy with the weigh in results.

All I did was drink the water... 128 stinking ounces a day!!!! And I'm just not hungry. I make dinner for my family but I don't eat it. I do make sure to eat a little something during the day. Although last night when I got home I was seeking junk (I am sick right now though...sinuses/allergies/bronchitis) maybe that has something to do with the wanting to eat last night I don't know. I also walk every day. Jada (my 6 month old boxer) and I take a walk everyday...photography is my hobby, so on days off work we hike somewhere and take pics. I have a pretty physical job...I work 3 days a week, 12 hour shifts each day. I did notice yesterday I was kinda "drained" feeling...now that I got my B12 shot...I feel more perky. I called my husband to tell him about the almost 6 pound weight loss (giggling now) he says "yeah...when I wrapped my arm around you in bed this morning I could feel it in your waist"....now I know he is probably looking to get a little lucky tonight and was using the "butter her up" method.....anyhow the compliment felt good...and I think it worked! LOL

Kristine - you need to eat regardless of if you are hungry. You should try to take in 1200 cals a day + the water. I know it is hard, but it helps burn the weight off faster. Your body does need that energy in order to burn it.

Good luck!

I know I need to eat...and I do. For breakfast I have cofee (lol). Lunch is usually some tuna and a rice cake and then dinner...well I pick at a salad. I just have no real gumption to eat. If you google TER or EER (total energy requirment or estimated energy requirement), you will find calculators that help you calculate what amount of calories you need to maintain a specific weight, or loose weight. There are also BMR calculators (basic metabolic rate) that give you more info. Your body DOES need a certain amount of calories in order to burn calories, otherwise...it slips into the "fight or flight" mode of starvation. If this happens, your body will hold onto whatever you put into it, as it feels it is being faced with starvation. Look these tools up, they are VERY helpful in the weightloss arena.

Kristine, Welcome. Congrats on the loss. That's awesome! I'm worried that you're not eating enough and that you'll slow your metabolism down. I mean seriously how many calories can there be in a rice cake and tuna - 300? 400? Probably not even that. People here have had the best long term results from eating smaller meals more often. Just my opinion - you're doing awesome though! Ellen
