Wow. It's a mircale. I made it through my first week. Let's recap. Days 1 and 2 I had insufferable dry mouth but lost almost 2 pounds. Day 3 I realized I'd gained back the 2 pounds and 2 extra. Frustrated I wrote and the people in this forum really came through. Who knew that eating too little food could cause the gain? I increased the caloric intake and within a few days the pounds melted back off.

I have really changed my eating styles but haven't deprived myself. Instead of eating the whole oreo shake I eat the whipped cream and cherry and give the rest to my hubby. I get the fix i need without the calories, he gets a milk shake and we save cause we aren't buying 2. That's a win win situation.

The initial tiredness I was feeling maxed out around day 4, I actually had to take an afternoon nap to make it through the day. Now, I'm up at 6:30. That's a HUGE difference from my usual NOON rising. I go to bed at 11 as I did before. While I'm not running marathons I can see the increased energy.

As for appetite supression.... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! I struggle to make 1000 calories. It's even harder to make the 1500 calorie goal I have everyday. At first it was hard, keeping track and making sure I stuck within the guidelines. I was used to eating whatever whenever I wanted it. So I had to start writing it down to make sure I didn't go over. Now I can add it up in my head and keep really good track of what I'm eating.

The best part of this week has been the realization that I don't have to eat it just because it's there. If it goes to waste then that's ok. It's better that it goes to waste than if it goes to my waist.

H2O is my new best friend. With 2.4 pounds down and 151 more to go... we'll be seeing alot of eachother!!!

Till next week, Good Luck everyone!!!!

Colleen

 Wow, Colleen! You are doing so well! Isn't the appetite suppression great? I just wish I had known about phen before I gained so much weight. It has taken me years to get my appetite under control and it is going to feel like it's in boot camp when I stop taking phen, but it is going to do what I tell it to do! :x Now, MARCH, Appetite! MARCH!

I am really encouraged by the way you have just taken this thing by the throat. You GO, Colleen!!! Go!!

Thanks you guys. Seeing your progress really keeps me motivated. I really want to suceed this time. I'm not sure why this forum is such a help other than i can read stories on so many people who have suceeded at least a little. While they aren't all at their goals so many of the members here have lost many pounds. It's a real motivator. And everyone is friendly with tips for newbies.
Be proud of yourselves. Everyone here is an inspiration to someone. Even if you've only lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks or steadily lost 2 pounds a week... or even stalled out... you are all inspiration for me to keep plugging away and get healthy again.

THanks
COlleen

I agree this is the best place for support! I missed it when I was on vacation. I still felt like I had a little birdy on my shoulder reminding me to exercise, drink my water and eat good foods. I knew I would have to report my success or failures. I knew I would either have pats on the back or a swift kick in the butt to shove me back in the right direction.

You are doing great!

So prevention has this article about people who weigh themselves every day losing more weight than those who weigh only 1 time per week. They said those who weigh daily lost an average of 12 pounds and those who weigh weekly only lost an average of 6 pounds. The reasoning behind the increased weight loss is that the scale can show you daily what eating habits to avoid and you can change them faster if you gain 3% of your weight back.

I weigh myself daily just cause i'm curious. I like to see the scale drop numbers. So every morning I'm in there waiting to see if it's down another one or just a few tenths of a pound... or even the body fat percentage is down.... Yesterday I was down another pound.... Such a motivator... that's 1 more down that i don't have to look at today! I'm thrilled...

However, even more thrilling is that since i started early last week taking phentermine... my body fat percentage has gone from 53% to 50.5% I've only lost 3 or so pounds but the fat percentage has dropped....

So while I'm not losing tons here.... It still feels sooooooooooooooo good....

Though i slipped yesterday and only got in 1000 calories... it stalled my weight loss today... I find it hard to eat it all in one day... So the new strategy is BIG breakfast... today I had 2 eggs and 1 1/2 c of spinach with a tortilla and 3oz of cheese.... 900 cals off my list and the rest of the day I can run run run without balancing calcium and protien. I love veges and fruits so I can top the rest of my day off with those and not stall my losses. Eating this way i'll always hit my 1200 to 1500 mark..... no sweat! Plus F&V's are way more convinient than burger king... I can take them with me.. eat them anywhere and never feel guilty. Plus there are no long drive through lines or slow cashiers....

Hope you all are doing great. Good luck everyone.

Colleen

Colleen, I weigh myself every day and sometimes at night. Wow, nice to hear that the outcome is actually a good one.
Good luck on losing weight - you are doing it so fast.

Thanks. I have a lot to lose to it doesn't seem like it's coming off so fast. However, 1 more pound down today! I can see 270 creeping up on me!!! It's so thrilling.

Keep up the good work everyone! Good Luck!
