Hi, my name is Randi and my mother and I started on Phen 37.5mg tablets yesterday. So far so good. We wanted to go through this journey together for the support. I am really worried about her health because she is only 5'4" and last time she weighed herself I think it was around 200+. I just don't want to lose her to health problems when she use to be so petite before she had children.

Me on the other hand I just want to lose around 20 pounds. I hold all that extra weight in my stomach area and have tried everything to lose it but I am just always hungry. I actually lost about 60 pounds in the last 2 years just walking and cutting down my portion sizes but they are slowly creeping back up to super size portions. My mom and I walk my two dogs every day but now we are going to start lifting some weight because I don't want to lose muscle mass with this drug.

I am so glad that I found this website because I have been reading all the threads and you guys are so supportive and have alot of good advise. I am going to get my moms weight so that I can put a ticker on here for her and me.

Keep up the good work for all of you who are losing the weight.

Love ya

Thanks for your support. I will put up our information and goals tommorrow after I get her information, she hates getting on a scale. I think we will weigh in once a week because I think it better since most people flucuate in their weight everyday. I am so glad I found you guys.

Yes, I know a lot of people weigh everyday, but really it's not good cuz a person's weight can fluctuate 1-2 lbs EVERY day!!! I've done that in the past, & it ALWAYS set me up for failure!!! :( It's just not that important to me! Once/week is definitely the smarter way to go!

I think its great that you and your mom is doing this together. My daughter is to slim to lose any weight. She only wear a size 5 in pants. I look forward to reading your post. Good Luck!

Welcome~my daughter has the same problem with carrying her weight around her middle but is pretty slim everywhere else. She's too young to go on the meds with me, but I just wanted to say I think it's wonderful that you are teaming up with your mom to get healthy. It's so much easier when you have someone to talk to and excercise with. You and your mom will be closer for it too. Good luck to both of you, and keep us posted.

What a great idea to do this together!
:( My daughter was going to do this with me, but she backed out...she has gained 50 pounds since going off her medicine called Topamax, and is very upset but not quite ready to lose. I have been there and know not to talk about it or slip any hints...just to be beside her and be a positive role model when I can.
Best of luck to you both!! Are you both on the same pill?

Yes we are taking the same pills. She is ashamed to tell me her weight so I am just going to ask her how she is feeling and if her clothes are fitting better. She has taken phen before years ago and said it didn't work but she didn't have any support. I think that a support system can make all the difference in the world because you are more motivated. When she drops only one dress size I am going to treat her to a massage to keep her motivated.

Thank you guys for all your support. I read all the posts and right down all the helpful tips you have.

Has anyone out there tried both the capsules and the pill for of phen? Which one seems more effective?
