Having spent a LOT of time reading through posted messages and diaries for inspiration, I've decided to start my own. I ve never successfully kept up a diary, just as I ve never successfully kept up a diet... When it comes to these kinds of things I'm a fall of the horse and have a tub of hagen daaz to comfort yourself kinda gal. Soooo... having recently graduated, and started a new lifestyle, the diet, diary and gym are all going to be prominent parts of this change. So far I've lost nearly a stone and a half....I guess thats not such a bad start eh?
I fall down on the weekends, Saturdays spent shopping with the girls, having dinner with the girls and then a night full of alcohol fuelled partying really through me off my diet. I know how i work, and for me to get slim I'm going to need to have my treats, and Saturday will be my day of indulgence.
Saturday day I was really rather well behaved. I picked up a low cal fajita wrap from Marks and Spencers and had Steamed Salmon and Vegetables for dinner. However, Saturday night I drank an entire bottle of red (apart from the bit I spilt all down my mums new sofa....sooo glad that came out before they come back from holidays!), half a bottle of Rose, a vodka diet coke and a martini lemonade. This was topped off by ridiculous amounts of drunken cooking when we got in. To be fair, I ate little of it...untill the morning when the hangover munchies kicked in!!!
Having dragged myself out of bed, I spent an hour and a half at the gym....and then came home and pigged out. In a hungover mess I forgot to take my Phentermine for the first time in a month. I wasnt even hungry, I just ate and ate. why? Perhaps it was part boredom, perhaps part putting off doing the housework. My parents return from their summer home tonight and the house has to be spotless (which means replacing handbags to my mothers wardrobe and removing red wine stains!!)
After my very naughty weekend of over indulgence... I'm committing myself to a week of pious dedication to my diet. My body is a temple...of sorts. My monthly weigh in is on Saturday, and I want to have lost at least 3lbs by then!

:p Welcome to PhenForum, Emma! You come from a long way away! We are very glad to have you here and hope you'll post daily~ You have lost a lot of weight already and are well on your
way, so congratulations on that, Babe! I don't know what a 'stone' is, though I think it is about 15 or 20 pounds, right?
This time of dieting with phentermine as your tool can be the very last time in your life that you have to do this IF you eat carefully, wisely and with your body's health in mind. This is the time to teach your body new ways. and too many calories will send your initial plans !
I think there are approximately 100 calories for a jigger and 1/2 and about 100 per 1/2 cup of wine.
I hope you will choose your calories carefully. Some of the mainstays of a healthy diet are:
1. Eat 5-6 times a day to keep your tummy tamed and your blood sugar level.
2. Start with breakfast, about 200-300 calories.
3. Drink at least 100 ounces of water a day. This not only hydrates you but curbs appetite.
4. Eat a bit of protein at each of these times, perhaps yogurt, almonds, peanut butter, fat free milk, beans, legumes, chicken, fish, turkey, red meat, cheese sticks, fat free cottage cheese, that sort of thing~
5. Count your calories. For you, don't go under 1,200 calories a day.
Write down everything you eat and drink. This is important for each of us.
Once you begin counting and eating correctly, it will become second nature.
6. Add some form and amount of exercise every day. Start where you are able. I began with 10 minutes. Most people do more. I have heard that aerobics just after breakfast are more beneficial to your goal and your health.
7. Be consistent and stick with us on this board. We need each other and we need YOU!

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the support! I guess when your blog is being read by other people then you feel the need to press on, even when you cant be bothered.
My over indulgent weekend cost me a few pounds, so I'm going to have to start working a bit harder! I must have laughed off a fair bit in work though. Typical Monday, got stuck in the lift on the way up to the office (that 'll teach me to start using the stairs!), and then an entire bookshelf fell on my boss's head!!! Following that, my e-mail address got deleted meaning I've lost all my past work e-mails, contacts, diary. It was one of those laugh or cry situations, I chose to laugh.
Decided not to go to the gym last night, not only was I really tired, but I think I worked myself to hard on one of the weights machines and the muscles in my back have been aching. I'm going to go tonight, I dont want to start making excuses and getting lazy, but after a long day it can be really hard finding the energy. Its easier to veg out infront of the tv, but then i suppose thats what piles on the pounds in the first place!
I've resolved to not go out this weekend. I need to go to the Dr's to get another supply of Phentermine, and then my car tax needs paying, and car insurance which should set me back a couple of hundred quid.
My parents came back from our holiday home on Sunday, but with work etc I didnt really get to see them until last night. They said that I was looking a lot better, which made me feel good. When you have a lot to loose, it can sometimes be difficult to notcie much of a change in yourself at first, and this can get you down. My friends havent really noticed, as they see me pretty much every day, however I have found my clothes are getting looser (Yay).

Hello Emma and do I hear another emotional eater?
I too eat when I am bored, tired, anxious, or angry.
Good job on exercising!
