Hello everyone

I am so excited I came across this forum. It's very informative and I find the answers to my questions most of the time.

A little about myself.

I am 33, with a son (he is 2 1/2) I gained 60 pounds in my pregnancy and although I have lost a lot of it, I 've been struggling to loose more weight. I did all the diet pills out there and exercise 3 x a week (40 min of cardio and weight lifting) (I always ended out eating most of the calories I've lost from exercise) last time I weight myself I got scared to see the number on it. the scale read 184 and I panicked ( that's a whole lot of weight for me) althoug I am 5'6" and wear a size 10 b'cuz I think I have more muscle ( and muscle weights more)
anyway I did'not want to be this heavy anymore and I asked my dr. about any pills that might help me eat less. She suggested Phen and I am on my second day today.
She prescribed it for a month and advice me to loose no more than 10 apound a month. ( I hope I can do that) (by the way my insurance didn;t coverd the cost, the pharmacy only charged me 19 dollars, that's cheap isnt it? good for my wallet lol
I used to do weight watcher and lost 10 pounds and gained them all back. I know the system works but It was becoming very difficult for me to stick to my points allowance.
yesterday I was 2 points short of my daily limit(for first time in the pill I loved it) also went to the gym and the energy I got from phen was great ( my heart rate was pumping at 150 most of the work out)
today I am shoked to see I still have 10 points left and It's almost 9 oclock. I have been eating very healthy too. protein, egg beaters chicken, vegetables , fat free cheeses , whole wheat bread and a ton of water.
I love the fact that the pill seems to curb my appetite and I am not so axcious (sp) anymore. I even notice I have more patience with my son. (you know he is a stubborn toddler lol)
I am planning to weight in next Friday. I will keep you posted of my results.
Good luck everyone and nice meeting you all.
Chely

Hi, Chely, and welcome to PhenForum! You will find a lot of support here and you have posted in the right place! It sounds as if you got a great deal on your medicine; I am very glad you have a doctor looking out after you. One month should be enough to lose 10 pounds( especially looking after a little one) and the phentermine seems to have already given you the ability to control your points, hasn't it? I know you are excited about that.:p
We are all very happy to have a new friend join. You can begin by posting in other folks' journals or by asking or answering questions on any of the threads. We depend on each other here and on the support of this group of Lovies.

Hi Beth
this is a list of the points allowance according to your weight:
less than 150------ 20 points
150-174 -- 22
175-199 -- 24
200-224 -- 26

remember you also have 35 extra points a week for anything you want to eat. I am hardly eating my daily points so I think I will skip the weekly ones if I don't need them.
also you could check up the weight watchers dot com and go to message boards and you will have most of the answers there. (the forums are free, you don't have to subscribe to ww)

Hi tatiana thanks for you support.

Hi again, Chely. I love the point system you gave; I have been looking for that on the WW forums but just hadn't found the right thread! Thank you, Hon.

:p I am real glad you're with us. Sounds like you're level-headed and on the right track!
