Has anyone heard of a reality board or a goal board? Steve and I have one each right in front of our noses on the wall in the office! Just quickly it is a cork board up on the wall. In the middle of this cork board is a list of my short term goals, or things I want within a year. They are not all
weight loss goals, some of them are to do with the business and some are financial, some are to do with travel and study, etc. However they are up there and they get read every single day! In the bottom right hand corner are a list of my long term goals, or anything else that I want which might take longer than a year to happen.
Around the rest of the board, are images, cut from magazines, the internet, etc. which are there to stimulate and enhance those goals visually. Our unconscious sees everything in pictures, so if you want a size 10 body, cut out pictures of someone who is a size 10 and get it up there, even better cut out a picture of your head and put it on the body! I am serious! If you want a certain car, write it down and put a photo of the car up there and put a little picture of you in the drivers window!!! Make sure you put dates in the goals, be very specific with what you want. You can put affirmations on the board, in fact anything that keeps you motivated.
It works for us... I often have to re-type my long term goals as they become short term goals and short term goals as they are actualized. The best part is... you get to see your goals being reached one by one...
And from a motivational point of view "it is often the last key in the bunch that opens the door"!!! Just keep at it and never give up!
