Well, I had written a background post but in looking at it in MS Word... it was HUGE!!!! So let's try a condensed version(I really don't want to bore you!).
As of last week, I'm 37. Our first baby was at 17, in doing the math that makes me overweight for 20 years! That's wayyyy too long. The last time I was in onederland was when I got pregnant with child #2... um... more than 15 years ago!
Last month, I went for a physical with a new doctor. I had many health issues that I wasn't aware of and we're working closely to conquer them... one at a time. High bp, high cholesterol, depression and obviously my weight.
I changed my
diet due to the cholesterol. Started a food and exercise
journal. Went on Welbutrin for the depression, a fluid pill for retention, asprin for my heart and fish oil. 2 weeks of the new lifestyle brought a loss of 9 pounds. I swear it was mostly
water(thanks to the fluid pill) as I now have ankles!! I haven't had ankles in FOREVER! BP was normal.
2 weeks later(yesterday), I went in for another check up and the BP was still normal so she prescribed the Phen.
I'm excited, scared, nervous and hopeful all at the same time. I know this is just a tool and to really make a difference I have to stick with the lifestyle changes.
Today was day one on 1/2 of a
37.5 dosage. I felt shaky, sick to my stomach at times, sweaty just out of the blue and a thirst that just wouldn't quit... what I didn't feel was hungry!! Yippie!!
2 more days of a half dose before we go full strength!
And most importantly, I thank you all for the warm welcome!!
