Hey jojo209 I'm confused too!! Perhaps one of the moderators can help you out?

Squeekie I got the phen 40mg capsules from my doctor who promptly went on holiday for two weeks, he is back tomorrow so I will be going to see him. Over here Phen is available in 40mg, 30mg and 15mg and knowing what I know now, I would probably be better with a lower dose as he gave me the highest, so that is why I have been skipping days so it does not build up in my system and to be honest that has helped a lot. Phen does have the side effect of a racing heart and I am rather sensitive to stimulants so I have had to kinda figure it all out for myself! The other thing was that I couldn't break them in half as they are capsules and the pharmacist advised me not to as they are slow release capsules and if you break them up, you get a 20mg instant hit and I thought naaaaahhh!!!!! So that's the story really.

Anyway, I am still not too keen to exercise hard because of that. I am getting the weight off just by walking and cutting back on food, so I will return to my uphill/heart pumping walks when I get to goal weight and cut right back on the phen. It will probably also help me to maintain. Heck, who knows if I am on the right track or not, I am getting results though so I must be doing something right!!!

Having a day off phen today as I am full of energy again and only slept about 5 and a half hours last night, heart beating a little bit faster so time for a break for a day or two. I am getting exercise though just increasing the house work!!

I am about 5-6 pounds away from my goal so I just want to get there asap and get into maintenance.

I know whatcha mean Gillian! We all want to get to goal - & get there FAST! I wish that I was at goal so I could be on maintenance right now too ... sigh ... I'll get there though ... maybe ... I'm just a little discouraged right now b/c the hunger supression is once again GONE, & I am feeling NO effects of the Phen! I just don't get it ...? It'll work for 2 or 3 days, & then BAM! It stops working again for 3 or 4 days (or more). Then it might work again for 2 or 3 days, then stop again... I HATE this! It is SO SO frustrating!!!

Ok, sorry to just go off in your journal ...
I wish you all the best! SO glad the Phen is still working for you! I am soooo very jealous of you!

Hope you're having a good day today! Over here in the U.S., we are getting ready to go to bed for the night ... I guess you're just in the middle of your Sunday right now

Hey sweet4jay
How long have you been on phen? I don't want to lose this window by checking in your journal... As I understand it, your body gets used to it and it becomes less effective after about 3 months. Then you need to have a break from it completely for a while before starting it again for it to be effective again.
That is one of the reasons I would like to get the weight off asap and then maintain. My plan is to have some in the cupboard so if, for some reason, I gain a little, I can jump back on it for a few days and get it off. The problem for me is that, at 46, it is just sooooooo hard to lose weight now I have tried everything and this was the last resort before I just gave in to the middle age spread thing!!!
The other thing is what strength are you on? I inadvertently got put on the strongest one first and really I think it is too strong for me personally but perhaps you need a stronger dose? I heard from Heather that sometimes you can take two 37.5mg over there in the US! Geeee I would go off like a rocket but then that is me. Other people may need that much to get the same effect, I dunno. All I know is that I am very grateful that I have managed to find something that actually works after spending hundreds of dollars on over the counter appetite suppressants, etc. etc. that really are not that great.
Even if I have a break, like today, I am still not that hungry. It is going to be really wierd when I do come off them completely though. I will definitely have to exercise then!
But hey you are very, very positive and very inspiring and I love chatting to you in here and I hope I can support you the way you have supported me
Catch you soon

Hey Gillian
I have answered your questions in my journal. I have only been on it for 1 month now, so I really don't know WHAT'S going on! Some ppl's bodies just do NOT "accept" Phen, so that could be my problem ... I dunno ...

Thanks so much for all the support though! I REALLY REALLY appreciate all your help!

Wow, Kiddo! You are so very close to goal. It really does get harder with age to lose. Something about hormones. I went through extremely early chemically-induced (medicine) menopause at age 38 and I began to have weight problems right away.

I am really proud of the way you have stayed current with your journal and stuck it out.
