Hey everyone -

This is it!! I am going all the way this time. I'm 35 years old (36 this Sunday) and I'm 5'7" and 175lbs, with a goal to lose 30 lbs. I've tried so many different ways to lose weight and have spent so much money in the process. Well, I decided to give phen a try. I took my first pill on 12/7 (I'm taking 30mg by Mutual 274..which I guess is the manufacturer's name). I am anxiously awaiting my first weigh in on Friday. I've made some serious changes over the last couple of days. I've been drinking water like crazy...and I actually enjoy it now! (I'm not too sure what that's all about.) The first couple of nights I did experience some issues with sleep...and boy did I have the bags under my eyes to prove it. I started to exercise again...I actually played the boxing game on our Wii for about 25 minutes and boy was I a sweaty mess! I did 25 minutes of my tae-bo DVD this morning and I actually feel really good now. For breakfast I ate a packet of regular oatmeal with 1 packet of splenda and an apple. I think that I have my diet under control and I have a long way to go before I'm a real workout queen. So, I just wanted to introduce myself and start my journal. I look forward to the support and motivation from you all....Now let's go shed some pounds!!!

Thanks Ms M!!! It's people like you that give me inspiration. You've lost 37.2 lbs...THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!! Please share some tips. You are taking phen, correct? How about your diet, are you tracking it somewhere? Exercise...what's best?

Hi everyone -

Today is my weigh-in day and my 1st week on phen. I was a little discouraged when I jumped on the scale today to see that I've only lost 3 lbs. My husband had to quickly remind me that the scale said -3 and not +3. After his pep talk, I felt a lot better about my 3 lb. loss. He also made me realize that it didn't take me 1 week to put this extra weight on, so why do I think I should lose in 1 week. Okay, okay...I told him that I got it. I am happy to report the change in my diet over this last week. I've cut my fat/calories quite a bit. I only exercised twice this week for about 25 minutes each time and now it's time to step that up. I'm shooting to work out at least 4 times this week at 30 minutes per session. If I can continue cutting the amount of fat and calories I eat per day, I may be able to lose another 3 lbs. next week!!! Let's keep hope alive!

Question: How many calories and grams of fat should I be eating per day to lose weight? I'm going to try and google this and hopefully I'll find something.

Welcome!

Congratulations on losing 3 pds. Your husband is right about losing the weight overtime. Its healthier and more likely to stay off. And in the process we have time to improve our food consuption.

You have given me a great idea. My kids have a Wii they usually end up sweating like little piggies when they are done. I think I will join then and burn a few calories in the process.

Boy its something about that first weigh in after that first week. We are all looking for that BIG OLE number.(me included) This is my 2nd time around and I have been on it since 12/03 and still havent weighed. I just figured that the change in eating habits and exercising surely paid off some kinda way; inches or a few pounds. Your hubby was right, didnt take you a week to gain so it wont take a week to lose it. (But the thought is nice anyway). Keep going girl!!
