This was my first day and I was really excited to get this process going. I weigh 268lbs and if no when I drop to 198 it will be easier to work out harder. Today went fine except I had an awful headache around 2pm. I took Motrin and a rest then the headache eased off then faded away. I also felt kinda of yucky not bad...I fasted (SPIRITUAL)this morning until noon...but anyway later on the day got better. I did get a little tired early then I went walking and got a burst of energy. I later carried my 9 yr old on my back upstairs 5 times in a crawling type manuever..whew just being creative in working out . Dr told me I need to drink up to 60oz of water. The amount of water I am to intake is challenging but I am working on that. I just came across the board today a lot of helpful information. I have a question what is the best way to get the best most effective and quickest results from the phentermine 37.5mg? I am so tired right now that as soon as my head hit the pillow I am sure to be out. Until my next post.

Welcome to the board! You'll find lots of helpful and great people here.

As for getting the most effective and quickest results with phentermine, I don't think there is one answer to give you. All I can offer is what I did.

I started march 28, 2007 with phentermine and it gave me the extra energy I needed each day. For diet, I didn't want to be on one of those mass market diets so I just altered my food and did my own thing. I reduced the fat and/or calories and also ate more often through out the day. Doctor wanted me to eat 6 small meals or snacks per day but I couldn't reach 6, I usually did 4 small meals. I also had started exercising at the same time but I had to work my way up to do a mile or more. So basically, I think you have to change the way you eat (find something that works for you) and exercise and drink that water! Drinking water is important because it keeps your body hydrated and washes out the crud too. lol

While I'm struggling with weight right now due to health issues, I'm proud of the amount of weight I lost. I still haven't reached my goal weight and it's been over a year. This means that weight loss is not and should not be fast. You didn't put the weight on all at once so you won't lose it all at once. Be patient and don't give up!

Also, you should decide on how often you weigh yourself. Personally, I weigh myself everyday because that keeps me focused but doing that can bring a person down when they see the weight go up one day but down the next and up the next day. So some people only weigh themselves once a week. When you do weigh yourself, make sure it's at the same time, same conditions (like same outfit or naked if you want and after you use the bathroom).

Last piece of advice, Start a journal here in this section. Before I found this place, I kept a food journal of what I ate every day. Every piece of food that entered my mouth, i kept track of. That helped me. Then I came here and started a journal here. You can record your thoughts on your weight battle or what you did that day or anything you want. People here are great and we don't judge because we are all in the same boat. You're not alone.

I know that's probably a longer answer than you want but as others can confirm, I tend to babble on about nothing. LOL

Hey oneless, welcome to Phenforum!

Looks like you have had lots of great advice from Katie... she is one of our best weight loss success stories!

Headaches are common when you first start a weight loss program as your body is generally starting to detox. Hang in there and it will all settle down. The water will help. The most important thing is that you start to develop new eating and lifestyle habits.

You will find heaps of support, friendship and encouragement in here... all the things you need if the going gets tough!

Look forward to seeing your progress!

WELCOME and congratulations on such a super start!
Some ideas:
Eat breakfast daily, one hour after taking your medicine with 8 ounces of water.
Eat more fruits and veges
Drink tea as long as it’s from real tea vs. herbal tea, along
with water.
Build more muscle, burn more calories.
Start meals with a salad or soup.
Eat more protein to help satiate you.
Decrease/eliminate simple carbs.
Eat more veggies first from your plate. They fill you up.
Alternate exercise routines.
Include low-fat water-based soups as snacks with meals.
Don’t forget the fiber. Think of fiber like a sponge.
Take a walk. The more calories you can burn each day, the better.
Replace one meal a day with a large salad and lean proteins.
Self monitor. Keep a journal. There’s no other way.
Portion control. Avoid the buffet line and never super size a thing.
