I said sure, but I am seriously thinking of changing my mind while they still have plenty of time to replace me.

Yesterday, workshop then I tried to go shopping since I was in the "big" city without kids, but there were tornadoes popping up all over the state thanks to Hurricane Ike, so I had to come home. I helped the kids get their rooms cleaned up, church this morning, nap afterwards, now I have papers to grade and then it's back to the grind.
Geez, You really were busy !! An all day workshop it sounds kinda, boring to me. I use to have to go to these all day workshops or training courses, related to my being in the hospitality field at the time. Talking about boring but, hey I was getting paid to go, plus it was a requirement. I guess you do, what you gotta do.

If you don't feel like teaching in Nov. for them then, I would decide soon, like you said, to where they would have plenty of time to, replace you. If I did not want to, I wouldn't period, unless we really needed the money.kwim? Plus it's around the beginning of holidays. How many weeks, would you have had to teach, that course ? Would the money have been good ?

Oh don't worry when I heard that hurricane Ike was gonna be sending out tornadoes and I heard Arkanas mentioned your the first one, I thought about, besides joy. Sorry that ruined your shopping day.

Well at least you were more productive then me this weekend. unless your counting all my on the forum of course, then, I would have been overproductive.

Hey, Ike may have ruined my shopping day, but it probably saved us lots of moolah, if you kwim.

With the November class, we could certainly use the money, and with it being around Christmas, we could REALLY use the money, but we could also be ok without it. The thing is the class they want me to teach is at a corporation my university has paired up with. The corporation pays 100% of the university's tuition and now our university offers classes at the actual corporation. I've taught adult students at this place of employment before, and I've found them to be very vindictive in their faculty feedback they do at the end of each course. Like if they get a bad grade, they tend to collaborate to rip the teacher to shreds on the feedback forms. On the last class, there were two or three people who left a negative, and if they could've questioned whether or not my mama was married to my daddy at the time of my birth, they would've. 99% of their comments were just lies, which were easily disproven, but still...it hurt my feelings, ticked me off, made my percentage of students satisfied with my course go down. I vowed I would never teach another course at that corporation again, and lo and behold, that's where they are asking me to go. I met another professor at the meeting yesterday and she said they did the same thing to her. I don't know if it's worth it. Any input is welcome.

Oh, I gotcha and your talking to the shopping queen, so I know, exactly what you mean.

Well Miz, they did ask you to teach again this year, so apparently they really think highly of you and your teaching capabilities,so that's a plus.

If it were me, I'd need the money, so I probably would have at least sucked it up, one more year, but that's me and my situation. I would have been just as annoyed and sensitive over any negative reviews on my teaching capabilities , knowing I had all this schooling and have taught for quite sometime, you can't be a complete moron and be a teacher, you need a 4 year degree and probably have to redo your liscense every so often take refresher courses and so forth and so on ........I'm guessing all of this, like I really, would know.

So basically is it worth your Sanity or not is the question ? Maybe you can give it just one more time and you know it's not because of your abilities of being a poor instructor That other professor said the samething happened to her. If it happens the same this year then I'd let them kiss my big white fat A## and take my money and run ......... Plus I would have extra money and have a Fabulous Christmas !!!!

Vowel again to never teach for them a third time and keep your word because, by then, you would have realized if it happened twice, then it would continue to be a miserable experience with those ppl. You would have given them the benefit of a doubt and they would have blown it again. Ultimately,of course, it will be your own descision. I hope others chime in on this topic.

Hope you had a great day. ttyl c.c.

OUCH! Girl, you are pulling the walls down on yourself and the house might collapse! That would be awful on us if you were gone. I think I'd be off their payroll for a bit of sanity-control.

I used to really pour my heart into teaching, then bring home papers that took 4-5 hours a night in addition to all the phone calls! YIKES! That's murder for the psyche!
Remember reading how celebrities refuse to read their own reviews? Cause they were human, just like we are, and unable to withstand the jerks out there. I can't either. Tore me up inside.

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU! Catch hold of the lifesaver and we'll pull you in!!

Excuse me, I have to pick myself up off the floor!
Gillian has returned!!

Now if she would just attempt to excuse her absence; I will deem it valid or not.

Susan, regarding the first line of your reply to my take the class or not dilemma. Can you clarify in simple terms for the dim-witted? (Not me obviously but the other ladies)

Yes another quick visit! I'll just keep it in your journal for now... I have been entertaining my brother and his wife who came over almost 3 weeks ago... they leave next Tuesday... so I will have more time then... also I have dropped my thesis in communications and I am picking it up again next year when I transfer to the university where I work and it will then be in higher education so I am very happy about that!

PLUS in two weeks time, I finish this grueling schedule of teaching I currently have... three weeks off and then just one class to keep me in the flow of things for the rest of the year!

And yes I will again have time to smell the flowers and post in here, etc. yeh!!! I must say it has been wayyyy too busy for me the last few weeks Too much to do and too little time, you know? So hopefully everyone reads your journal miz and I don't have to repeat it all again!

Still have a great weekend everyone and talk to you all soon!
