So I just started on Tuesday 4/21/09. I am going to A Better Way Health Center in Edina, MN. The staff seems nice, the doc a little odd, but hey if it works, it works.
I at at 219.8lbs when I was weighed in there. Ouch, that is almost up to my top weight ever. need to get started. I would someday like to be 160 or less, but right now I would be comfortable with anything under 200! (I'm 5'7").
I would like to reach this by then end of the summer, long term by the end of the year. I think that is fairly reasonable goal if i stick to it.
I have told most people that I am doing this, even at work, so hopefully I have a good support system. Randy is also trying to get back onto a healthy diet again, he had lost 60 lbs with LA Wight Loss, but has gained back 30 since they closed here in MN. He isn't happy about it. So hopefully Tim will let us diet and not try to drag us out to eat every chance he gets. (my boyfriends roommate). He says he wants to get into shape too, but only eats fried food and meat or goes out to eat.
I need to work on exercising, I just hate it, and can't get myself to do it. Hopefully if weight is coming off, it will be easier to feel better and more motivated to exercise. Otherwise I'm going to somehow just have to do it.
So far biggest issues with Phen.... not being able to sleep well, though last night i broke down and took a tylenol PM, so i slept fine. But otherwise I never feel like i fall into a deep sleep, and look at the clock 100 times a night. I have a super dry mouth, which means I drink more water, but working in the lab I can't have water at the front desk becuase it is not a "clean" area....but pt's can have water 1 foot away from me in the lobby....oh well. I have great appetite control all day until about 10pm then start getting really hungry. I don't want to take the pill later in the morning for it to last longer into the night, becuase I do want to at least get a little sleep.

Otherwise things are going great. First weigh in next Weds 4/29!

Hello there! Welcome aboard..good luck on your new journey...keep us updated on your progress. We are all here for support. Well when I was taking phen I was taking sleeping pills sometimes too..or I would just take 1/2 of the pill....keep us updated okay. Have a great weekend!

So I had my weigh in on Wednesday. Not too bad. I was still having quite a few cravings, so the doc upped my dose to 37.5mg from 30mg. So far so good on that. Plus I can actually find this pill on Drugs.com, and verify that it is real! I was down 4 lbs on their scale, but that was with heavier clothes on than the first weigh in also. I am doing my own "clothing free" weigh in at home, First day was 220. Today was 212.5! Not bad for a week and a half as far as I can see. Only 52.5 to go!

So thngs have gone a little slower this last week. Only down 1/2 a pound from my last weigh in 5 days ago. Tried to stick to my diet well, but know I am not drinking enough water....hope that is all it is. Plus I need to get on a regular work out program, I really hate working out, so it is hard for me to stick to it. Any suggestions?

Well be sure and drink plenty of water...give it sometime and you will see some results okay...check out sparkpeople and you can track your food and exercise..take care and keep us updated okay.

Girl you need to read my journal!! I have struggled and struggled with exercise! I finally started getting an exercise routine in March I think and did good but as soon as I quit for a few days it is back to struggling again till I start again. So my suggestion is just to do it!! LOL! I know easier said then done! Once I started though I did awesome and would work out every day and then if I take a few days off it is a struggle again to work out!!! So hang in there and you will get to the place where you will want to work out! Welcome to the forum too and please ask any questions you have!! We are all here to help!!
