Don't be discouraged!!! Sometimes it is a little slower for some than for others...but keep in mind that any loss is a good thing!!! I know that it is easy to get discouraged when you don't see the exact results, but use that to make yourself work harder to get to your goal.

Make sure that you are keeping your diet at 1200 to 1500 calories per day for the best results...less can slow down your loss and more is defeating the purpose. Include plenty of fruits and veggies. Drink 80 to 100 oz of water per day....this is VERY important because it not only helps to flush your system out, but keeps your organs working the way they should. Exercise for at least 20 minutes 3-5 times a week. It doesn't have to be at a gym or anything like that, it just needs to be something that will get your heart rate up and keep it up for that 20 minutes. If you can go longer, that is even better!

I know these are probably all things that you already know about, but they truly are the best way to make the most of the phentermine. You will do just fine!!!! Remember that the weight didn't go on overnight, so we can't expect it to come off that fast either. And I truly believe that when it comes off a little slower, we stand a better chance of keeping it off when we reach our goal!! Don't make it a diet...make it a lifestyle!!

You are doing great, Kaili!! Keep it up!!

kjar, were you dieting the weeks before taking phen?

i was eating tacos, salsa, chips and margaritas the night before i went to dr...so that may be why i lost alot 1st week....

my scale slowed down week 3

don't let it get you down ...actually it is down not up.....i could easily go up 4 pounds just by going back to what i was doing in a day! so 2.5 pounds or 8,750 calories is alot to loose in a week..

I usually eat fairly healthy (no fast food or the like) portion has always been my problem. I am trying to eat something light first thing in the morning and then have a much smaller than usual dinner and no snacking.
I know that I am eating MUCH less than before... but probably have to cut out my evening glass of wine... *sigh*

Portion control is my issue also...not eat all day, then stuff myself at supper! Thankfully I can tell you that it is getting easier after about 5 months on this, I am not fighting the urges like I was before. I am even beginning to leave food on my plate!! And I don't let anyone make me feel guilty about "wasting" food! lol!! (my hubby tends to say that!)

What helped me the most was drinking a bottle of water before eating, and eating a small salad or some fruit before the meal. And then I put half the size portions than what I would normally take on my plate. When I ate, I took my time....making sure to chew every bite, setting the fork down after taking a few bites, talking to the kids, or hubby, or anything to help me slow down. If I ate all that was on my plate, I told myself that it was plenty for now, and if I was still hungry 20 minutes from then, I would get more, but I never did go back for more.

Maybe it would be a good thing to cut the wine out temporarily, but I would say that once you feel that you have a handle on your daily calorie intake, have it! Especially if it something that makes you feel good! Denying all our small "treats" for ourselves only makes sticking with our diets harder, because you are more likely to get discouraged if you can't have anything that you really enjoy.

You are doing awesome!!

ok, so now I am back up 2 pounds...... could this all be from not drinking enough water? I don't drink much and I am wondering if that could be the thing that I am missing. My Dr didn't say anything about water consumption, but I keep seeing it mentioned on here. I have started a food journal (today) maybe that will give some insight as well.
:(

Yes, drinking more water is VERY important....it is recommended that we drink 80 to 100 oz of water a day. This not only helps keeps all the ickies flushed out of our bodies, but it also is very important for helping make your organs work properly.

Don't let it get you down...I spent 30 strong minutes on the Gazelle yesterday, my diet was very good, and today I was up a little bit, too!! I don't know how it is possible, but it does happen to all of us!! There are times I just want to throw that darn scale out the window...and then some days I absolutely love it! Can't win! lol!

A food journal is an excellant idea...there could be things that you aren't even really aware of that are contributing to your calorie intake. When you do that, make sure you write down everything you eat and drink, and include at least an approximate calorie count, trying to be as accurate as possible. I did that and it scared me!! lol!! There were things that I was "ignoring" or not counting, and when it was right there for me to see in black and white, then there was no way for me to not own up to it! You won't need to keep one forever, but just until you feel comfortable with your diet.

So today was weigh in day and I am down to 195 even (.2 pounds less than last week) my doctor is bummed and I think stumped. I should be losing faster than this. My work friend is on the same pills from the same pharmacy and has been on for 1.5 weeks and hasn't lost anything at all! Do you think it's our pills? Everything I have read sounds like these are a good brand, but has anyone had complaints about MP 273 from Mutual Pharma that Target is dispensing? I am trying to up my water intake a ton and see if that helps. I am eating tons less and sleeping a lot less - I should be dropping weight, phen or no phen. I am discouraged :(

It is VERY possible it could be the brand of pill. Especially if your friend is having the same effect. I had a very similar experience not that long ago when my pharmacy changed the brand they were carrying. When I refilled my prescription and it wasn't working, I checked out the pill and it was different than what I had been taking before. I called the pharmacy and after I explained what was happening, he ordered the other ones back in and exchanged the ones I had for the ones that worked before. They worked like before.

Call your pharmacist and ask if there is another brand available and if they would be willing to exchange what you have for a different manufacturer. Once you explain the problem, they will probably be willing to work with you to find a solution. I would also be sure to explain that your friend is having the same problem with that brand also, so they know it isn't just one person's opinion.

Good luck! And be sure to let us know how it goes!
