I am going to go ahead and start a weight loss journel. Just so i can keep track, and get motivation. Tomorrow will be my 4th day on Phentermine 37.5. I have been drinking tons of water because of my awful dry mouth(and because its healthy!) I havent had one drop of soda of any kind since I have started. Im trying to remember to eat! when I do its special K for breakfast, weight watchers for my meals, and as a snack i'll eat some no sigar added applesauce. Day 1 I ate only 765 calories, second day 820, and now today 835. But that was mostly because I drank some crystal light instead of water...I can only drink so much of the bland stuff... I have been doing dance aerobics, and walking. But this next thursday will be 1 week for me, and I am going to be heartbroken if the scale doesnt budge, or go up. keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hello and welcome!! We are so glad to have you join the forum!

I know it is very hard, especially in the beginning, but you need to make sure that you are getting enough calories each day. Recommended is between 1200 and 1500 per day. The reason you don't want to get too few is a couple of reasons...one, your body with think it is starving and start storing more fat which is something we really don't want! And second, is that you might not feel as good, and can actually start feeling woozy or dizzy if you don't get enough calories. So be sure to be careful.

You definately have us on your side...The beauty of this forum is the fact that we are all in the same boat you are, so we know what you are facing and are there to help however we can!

Good luck!!

I SO agree with Patty here. You can lose MORE weight by eating smart than by eating under 1,000 calories a day.

Please give it a try and try to include:
3, 1/2 c. servings of different fat free dairy
3, 1/4 c servings different whole grains
6, 1/2 c. servings different vegetables, no butter, no sauces
3, 1/2 c servings different berries
2,1/4 c servings different meats, poultry, fish
2, 1/8 c servings different nuts.
DAILY DRINK 60-100 OUNCES water

I have finished my first week on phentermine. I have lost, as you can see, 7.1 lbs, or a lb a day. I have boosted my calorie intake, and I am still doing my dance aerobics for 30 minutes a day. I wuld love to think that at this rate, by next thursday, I will be under 200 lbs. Right now, if I coul weigh 100 anything, i would be happy! I'll try to keep up with the updates!

If you keep up the routine that you are doing, you will probably see less than 200 before you know it! The first couple of weeks on the phen are usually the highest rate of loss, so you will be there before you know it!

I am so happy that there are people here who can relate to me, and give me some motivation. My husband, I love him, but he just doesnt understand! He says diets are a waste of time and money, and that I dont need it anyways, because i look fine. Take to mind though I dont think my husband has ever even hit 150 lbs and he is 6 ft! he has always been so thin! Im doing this for my health and my sanity. my weight has always been one of my biggest problems. Its made me depressed, and just givin me a very bad self esteem. Since I have been with him, 4 years, I cant recall one time that he has actually "seen" me. So this will help my personal life as well. Thank you all again for the boost!

Hello and congrats on your weight loss!!
I can definitely relate to your comments about your husband. My husband has always been the same way. "You look great to me, I like the way you look, etc.." He has always been between 150-165 since we have been married (13 years now). Even when I was my heaviest (320) he would tell me he loved the way I looked. Of course now that I am 203 I am starting to actually believe him.

I have been on phen for 2 months now and have lost 29 pounds using it. The first month I lost 21 pounds and only 8 this month. I think part of the reason for the lower number was because I had a different brand of phen than the first month. I was glad to see that this month went back to the original brand. I will need all the help I can get with the holidays coming up

I too struggle with letting him "see" me but it is starting to get a little easier! I am so close to under 200 that I can't hardly stand it! Keep up the great work and remember to eat at least 1000 calories each day!

I know what ya mean about needing help through the holidays! Heck, we have a bag of halloween candy on our kitchen table, and its been tough trying to stay out of it. Thanksgiving and christmas though, will deffinetly be a challenge. Both sides of the family are BIG eaters and I know they always expect me to pile the plate high. Im just going to look at all the yummy food and think, "I know if I eat that, i'll be in trouble!" Maybe next year!
