How to perform this exercise

Starting Position:
  • Stand with the feet shoulder width apart with the hands holding the dumbbells so that the palms are both facing you.
  • Let the dumbbells hang in front of the body with arms perpendicular.

Movement:
  • Take a deep breath and pull the dumbbells up the front of your body so that they approximately end at neck level.

Key Points:
  • Be sure to exhale while pulling and to resist the temptation to tense the back of the neck while doing so
