Phentermine Overview
What is Phentermine?
Phentermine is taken orally as an appetite suppressant.
It is part of the sympathomimetic group of drugs used
to help obesity sufferers get back to a normal weight.
It is intended to help patients lose weight over a short
term such as 3 months. So, it is essential to use Phentermine
as a tool to make changes easy... changes with diet,
exercise and lifestyle. If you don't change your habits,
you'll gain the weight back after you stop taking ANY
diet pill.
Weight loss is a complicated and arduous task- one
that requires every ounce of personal commitment and
resolve in order to make it work. Long term changes
need to be made to diet, fitness goals need to be assessed
and met, and an entire personality change needs to take
place. Essentially, losing weight needs to become part
of your life focus, and not just a goal that you want
to meet.
Phentermine is a weight loss supplement that is perfect
for short term weight loss stints. It was designed to
be taken for 6-12 weeks. Phentermine works by blocking
the receptors in your brain that are associated with
hunger, removing the the sensation of being hungry,
and hence reducing how much food you actually consume.
Someone who does not eat a lot may find the effects
produced by Phentermine to be redundant, though they
are highly unlikely to go unnoticed.
How does Phentermine work?
Phentermine stimulates your central nervous system
and manipulates specific neurotransmitters to block
hunger sensations. Some people have trouble sleeping
since the areas of the brain affected are the same systems
that control sleep.
The only active ingredient in Phentermine is Phentermine
Hydrochloride. Unlike many weight loss supplements,
weak herbal ingredients like hoodia
are not utilized.
Phentermine Side Effects
Many modern diet pills utilize Hoodia Gordonii, which
has no known side effects. Phentermine Hydrochloride,
however, is known to cause a few relatively mild side
effects. These side effects are relatively common when
taking Phentermine: blurred vision, dry mouth, sleeplessness,
irritability, upset stomach (typically occurs in the
first few days as your body adjusts to the medication),
and a change in your sex drive.
The main and most obvious side effect, appetite suppression,
is only temporary, and its effects will begin to wear
off after a few weeks.
Phentermine Warnings
Phentermine has been labeled as a schedule IV narcotic,
and is hence subject to the rules dictated by the controlled
substances act. Misuse or overuses may result in a psychological
or physical addiction to Phentermine, so always take
Phentermine exactly as directed.
You should not take Phentermine if any of the following
apply to you:
- Have allergies to any of the ingredients within
Phentermine.
- Have allergies to other sympathomimetics.
- Are taking duanethidine, guanadrel, furazolidone,
fenfluramine, or have taken a monomamine oxidase inhibitor
(MAOI) in the last 14 days.
- Have a history of substance abuse.
- Have heart or blood vessel disease.
- Have high blood pressure
- Have an overactive thyroid.
- Are pregnant or looking to become pregnant.
- Are breast feeding.
- Have a brain or spinal chord disorder.
- Have high blood pressure.
It is also important to mention that certain blends
of Phentermine (Fen-Phen) were taken off of the market
in 1998 because they were linked to causing heart valve
complications. You can learn more about drug and health

Phentermine Success
Phentermine has shown to be the most beneficial to
those with severe cases of obesity, though it will produce
its effects in anyone. Phentermine is not a “wonder
drug”, and it cannot force you to lose weight.
Should you continue over-zealous consumption while taking
Phentermine it is unlikely that you will notice any
changes at all in your body weight.
Taken in combination of a healthy meal plan and exercise
program, Phentermine will help maximize your success.
Again, please keep in mind that Phentermine was not
designed for long term use, and that long term consumption
or an increase in dosage may result in heightened side
effects and a dependency on the drug.
